Our mission

Civics Alive Kentucky seeks to empower incarcerated persons – via a developed curriculum and instructional program–with an increased understanding of American history, government, politics, and voting rights, so that upon their release they will have the knowledge to govern themselves and contribute to their communities effectively.

Knowledge will forever govern ignorance; and a people who mean to be their own governors must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives.
